It’s the start of a new year and a new decade but as with every year at this time it brings us to a fresh intake of VMware vExperts into the Program. Over the last two months vExpert Pros have been working hard peer reviewing and voting on this years applicants. This week we’re pleased to announce this years VMware vExperts.
Disclaimer: Numbers below are not official and have been compiled to the best of my abilities to be as close to accurate as possible. These numbers can vary as some applications are reassessed or were not available to me to count.
We welcome 1730 to the vExpert 2020 program. A huge congratulations to all that made it into the program this year. Dozens of vExpert Pros spent countless hours assessing and voting on applicants. If you applied but didn’t make it in. Try not to be discouraged. There’s always future opportunities to apply and put forward your case.
This year we have people from 77 different countries representing vExperts. That’s a huge diverse collection of people from all around the world not just representing the vExpert Program but advocating VMware. When you look at the list of countries people are representing, it’s amazing the reach around the globe VMware, and this program, has achieved.
With no surprise, once again the United States comes in with top spot of most vExperts at 569. Followed by United Kingdom at 159, and Netherlands with 103. My home country, Australia, came in 11th with 37. At the tail end of the list we have 20 countries with one vExpert. Well done in particular to these vExperts, you have a big job representing not just the vExpert program but your country.

Within the next month the vExpert sub programs will open up for applications. This year you will see a number of additional sub programs in additional to the ones from previous years. It’s here that vExperts can be recognised for a particular sub set of skills they have within the VMware ecosystem. I’d also finally like to take a quick opportunity to acknowledge the hard work the vExpert Pros do this time of year. As you can imagine there are many more application submissions than application approvals for the vExpert program, all of which need to be reviewed and voted on. It’s a very time consuming process which can involve some hard decisions. Keep up the great work.
